Many youth face these questions - how is the knowledge I learnt in high school and universities going to help me in real life? How do I manage my finances? Where do I look to start my professional career? How do I start a business?
Youth Lab is a US-based international educational platform that assists students in finding solutions to these questions, and more; led by university professors, serial entrepreneurs and business leaders committed to developing youth employability skills. They are here to help with four classes on offer: Entrepreneurship Education, Mentorship, Real-life skills and STEM.
Firstly, the Entrepreneurship Education class focuses on preparing individuals on shaping entrepreneurial basics and building businesses and organisations, including the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, engagement and collaboration skills, idea innovation and people management.
The Mentorship program is designed for a one-on-one mentoring on two different levels. The basic level is tailored to people interested in the fundamentals of entrepreneurship and personal development, while the advanced level is directed towards the generation of entrepreneurial ideas and offers opportunities for collaboration in startup ecosystems.
Real-Life skills classes aims to develop an individual's personality and building them for success. This includes lessons on early financial planning, communication soft skills and wealth management.
Finally, the STEM program challenges students in the scientific field to think critically to address problems with unique solutions, of which traditional schools fail to provide. Students will be encouraged to develop an innovative STEM mindset to solve issues in various different industries, including agricultural, biotechnology, big data and space-science.
