Careers in Colour x SolveSquad
When contemplating impact in the trajectory of career growth, the focus is often on individual contributions, in comparison to joint action. How we measure impact over time, however, can be influenced by something that goes beyond just the bottom line.
Careers in Colour (CiC) was founded after numerous conversations where peers shared the challenges they faced navigating their careers in corporate Australia. During the COVID-19 pandemic and amid a global racial reckoning, we had the time to reflect on how we could further the conversation around racial and cultural diversity and inclusion in our workplaces. Following a launch event that attracted over 200 attendees, it became clear that there was a strong demand for a platform focused on the early to mid-career space.
Today, Careers in Colour consists of a dedicated national team of volunteers who organise events across various sectors, addressing diverse lived experiences. Recent collaborations with Deloitte and Allens have also led to the formation of Employee Advocacy Groups (EAGs); which have further shaped conversations around how internal change can be accelerated through the efforts of a dedicated group of individuals centered on effecting cultural change.
Additionally, with the launch of the new "CiC Alliance; this community of practice unites employee advocates from a cross-section of public and private sector organisations, all working together to accelerate meaningful change.
For those interested in being involved, applications to join the CiC Alliance are open here, and you can also keep up to date with our latest events on our here.
