Harmony Day with SolveSquad

In light of our dedication to seeing communal growth and diversity, we enter the time of the year where people of different nations and culture gather as one to celebrate the peace and harmony that held us together for so long. People of various cultural backgrounds and occupations were certainly fruitful, as new and ongoing communal connections are forged and strengthened.

We certainly learnt a lot through listening to the different cultural stories, including New Zealand, South America, Asia and Africa. Some experienced a common influence due to shared history, while others were brought up in a completely different environment. Yet fate brought us all into this wonderful country altogether. It is truly a miracle how people of different histories and traditions can come together under one roof and appreciate one another!

My personal highlight is listening to and understanding that my ancestors shared a common history with another attendee on the night, of which people of both nations were influenced by the Japanese occupation in the Second World War. While sharing the same ethnic background, the environment surrounding each of us held a strong influence in the shaping of our customs, worldviews and ideologies.

As we continue to look forward beyond the scope of Harmony Week, we will continue to foster such relationships and bridging the gaps between cultures, while strengthening one another with our different ideas.

We’d like to thank Humans For Good, Uncommon Collective and SU Australia for supporting us in this event in various capacities, ranging from venue space to unique ideas.
