An Amazing Adventure - Our Time at SouthStart’s Odyssey 2023

Describing a conference can hardly be summed up in one word, but it was certainly remarkable that our time in Adelaide this week was absolutely worth it, especially as we experienced a two-day festival that was simply amazing.

More than just a conference, the brilliant minds behind SouthStart have been able to showcase a vast array of talent, from thought-provoking speakers to pioneering startups, the multi-day festival of innovation, imagination and impact certainly lived up to its name.

I was able to walk away from SouthStart’s Odyssey this year, not just with a bunch of new contacts for my LinkedIn connections, but also with some pivotal advice from potential investors, collaborations and colleagues in the social impact space, who both challenged and encouraged me to think deeper into the way I was able to expand the potential and reach of SolveSquad as a platform.

As SouthStart’s mission is to mobilise connections for all, their focus on taking a village to build a startup community of founders, entrepreneurs and pioneers brought about an amazing confluence of ideas, and also those who had the knowledge and experience to back it up.

My personal highlight of the gathering was what was called the Great Warm Intro - almost a semi-formal connector space for founders and investors to meet and exchange feedback, which was a wonderful opportunity for SolveSquad to think and explore outside the box.

As we look forward beyond Odyssey, we take a first step into what is certainly a brighter future.
