“Working towards a better tomorrow. Although this may sound like a cliche, it is every person’s dream. But for young people around Australia, this dream is becoming an achievable reality, despite the circumstances of COVID-19.
Young Campaigns is a grassroots, volunteer-led organisation that is driven by a group of dedicated young people committed to catalysing change at the societal level. Through a range of campaigns, including their latest initiative, the Tomorrow Movement, they have been able to raise the consciousness of the greater population for issues such as employment, healthcare, and suitable housing for youth; all areas that have been hardest hit by the effects of the coronavirus.
As this movement begins to gain traction, Young Campaigns is challenging the government to take action on items that have long been sidelined by political power, and is returning that power to the people, especially youth who are committed to creating change.
Due to the growing momentum behind this movement, the organisation is mobilising youth across several cities and regional areas within Australia to join the campaign and instigate change at the highest levels, and also empower others who are at the forefront of this cause. As many marginalised youth have been hardest hit as a result of the changes and aftermath caused by COVID-19, the movement has provided a platform for other young people to take up the baton and to pass it onto others to get involved in this positive initiative.
Solve Squad is looking forward to collaborating with the movement, and will be working towards further engagement with Young Campaigns over the next month to provide a platform for youth to engage with young people as part of a response in the midst of COVID-19.
