“Due to the widespread aftermath of the COVID-19 crisis, there are many organisations who are striving to provide a platform for engagement as the world begins to adjust to the reality of the pandemic. One of the organisations that has been able to highlight the work of young people on a global scale has been a social initiative that is beginning to have a major impact on the way the younger generation has been able to respond.
In collaboration with the United National Major Group for Children and Youth (UNGCY), a social initiative known as TYE (The Youth Edition) has been able to gather young people from different countries in response to a collective effort to catalyse change from a unique perspective. As a way to showcase the response of young people, especially in innovative and creative measures that are catalysing effective change, measures encapsulating medical, social, and environmental solutions are beginning to emerge that are being documented by this initiative in real time.
As the pandemic has given cause for concern, it has also provided an opportunity to examine more effective approaches to respond to major barriers that are affecting society, and has also given rise for responsible actions to take place on a larger scale. TYE provides a peer-to-peer community, where changemakers can present their innovations to a wider audience, and provide their solutions in response to a common need.
The SolveSquad platform will be collaborating with TYE to provide this platform to other youth who are able to continue to engage and respond to the needs of the wider community, especially during the pandemic.
As a way to engage further, young people will be provided with additional support and resources from the collaborating partners and organisations associated with TYE in an effort to highlight the work and the continuing need for increased involvement from the wider community in response to COVID-19, as well as to identify areas for development and innovation as a way forward post-pandemic. ”
